CES Ringing, etc. Fri 2nd May

Not a very good ringing session for the first visit compared to previous years.
The weather looked good with a light breeze and it started well, but after the Lord Mayor's Show ...
22 birds of 9 spp. compares badly with the average of the last 8 years - 30+ birds of 12+ spp.
This year (new/retrap) -
Dunnock 0/4 (3m,1f),
Song Thrush 2/1 (2f,1m),
Wren 0/1 (m),
Bullfinch 1/2 (2f,1m),
Blackie 0/1 (m),
Blackcap 6/0 (4f, 2m, 5=2cy),
Reed Warbler 2/0 (1f,1m),
Garden Warbler 1/0,
Chiff 1/0 (m).
The next visit is scheduled for a fortnight hence. Sightings included - 2 Greylag, 2 singing male Lesser Whitethroats, Treecreeper singing, 12 Swifts, 2 singing Whitethroats, pr of Turtle Doves flew through, 3 BH Gulls, m&f Sedge Warbler on spit, 6 C.Terns M/L, Little Egbert on 'lilypads' tree mid morning, 4 Gadwall incl. flight "display" with 2m grunting behind a female.
Next Sunday morning at 04:30 - 22nd Dawn Chorus walk (weather permitting - only cancelled once!)
