A quick netting session at the nuts for 3 hours produced 25 birds. 15 of these were retraps, incl. a Bluti from May '03 (as pullus in nearest nest box), another from Oct '03 (as imm.) and a Dunno from Oct '03 (as imm.). 2 Greti's with consecutive ringnos, caught together in Nov.'06, a male and a female, were caught together this morning!.
Tally - 9 Bluti, 9 Greti, 3 Dunno, 2 Lotti (a pair), 1 Grefi, 1 Blabi.
Entertained by 3 singing Goldf., 2 singing Sonth., 2 singing Bullf. (pairs), Sky Larks over, Kingfisher fishing by No.2 dipping platform. Ex-copper wanted to know if I was legit. - could tell by my gear and dexterity. Stood and watched with interest. He caught an Irishman taking Goldfinches in the Park, way back in '65. This has been the only such 'dead cert' prosecution in the county.
